Verify Your Email with Google Apps

Google apps requires that you verify ownership of your domain within 14 days and sometimes immediately after setting up an account to prevent abuse by spammers.

IMPORTANT: Your site must be “live” for this to work. If your old site is still visible, ownership cannot be verified.

Verification is easy. Here’s how to do it.

1. Login to the control panel using the link, username and password we sent you.

2. If you see a link on the next page that says Verify Ownership click it

Or, on the main screen click the Setup button.

setupbutton

NOTE: If you do not see the setup button do this: replace the Dashboard in the url:

with VerifyOwnership (make sure you capitalize) and hit return:

3. Select the HTML verification method:

4. Download the HTML verification file linked on the page.

4a. Note: Some google apps users may not have the option to download a file. In that case copy the code they give you and paste into this document (replace the code in the document with your specific code). Use simple text or some other word processing program to do this (IMPORTANT: Do not use Word): Download the document (here) and unzip it.

5. Upload the file to your site and put it in the httpdocs folder (This is Step 2):

uploadthefile

6. Confirm success by clicking the link they give you.

7. Click verify.

DONE.
