Captioning Your Images

All APhotoFolio websites support image captions and there are two methods for getting the captions to show up with the images.

A. Caption your images in Photoshop or a similar program that allows adding image metadata.

  1. Add your image caption to the description field (EXIF or XMP).
  2. When saving for web (photoshop) you must choose to include xmp: In Photoshop CS3, metadata can be preserved by changing the default settings: File > Save for Web & Devices > Optimize Menu Flyout >Edit Output Settings>Saving Files> select Include XMP to prevent metadata from being stripped. Once selected the option remains checked until changed by the user.
  3. Add the image to a gallery (images must be in galleries for captions to work).
  4. Go into the image bank, click on the image and approve your caption by clicking the submit button.

B. Caption your images inside your site admin.

  1. Add the image to a gallery (images must be in galleries for captions to work).
  2. Go into the image bank, click on the image you want to caption and write your caption in the box then click the submit button.
